Has anyone seen the documentary series “Liberia, America’s stephild”? I think that, in light of the “Year of Return” this film would make an especially relevant topic for discussion. More and more non-native
Afrikans from the diaspora are immigrating to the continent. I feel that some valuable lessons can be learned by looking back at how decades of ethnic conflict developed between the indigenous Afrikan population and the so-called “Americo-Liberians”. We foreign-born Afrikans could be a real asset to our motherland if we have the right skills, motivation and attitude. I would hate to see a repeat of the tragic events that took place in Liberia. I’m not being pessimistic, just “keepin’ it real”. For those of you who haven’t seen this documentary I’ve posted it on abibitumi.tv.
