In continuation from the last post, Football also known as Soccer is played around the world by hundreds of number of people making it one of the worlds most popular sport. With this huge global following, there is however a large percentage of its enthusiasts who are unable to afford an actual ball to play with. Whereas many may not be able to buy a football, that has never stopped Afrikan children from enjoying and finding a way to play the game.

The minds of our children are always open, creative and ready for the inspiration of learning that they are able to stretch their very own abilities, create their own happiness, therefore are highly resourceful to what is available around them to use. Pictured below are just a few examples of their handcrafted balls which is made from many objects which include socks, plastic, plastic bags, strings of cloth, rubber, bark tree, banana leaves, rags as well as rubber bands which they use to hold everything together. Once our children can find something that they can mold into a circular shape they then can and will transform it into a bouncy ball.

The lack of a real ball has never slowed them down and by making this game exist in its purest form, many of their handcrafted balls at present have and will continue to be exhibited in galleries around the world. The message clearly showing through the lens that that may not be able to afford having the real ball at hand but their own crafted balls are their very own treasured possession that they are truly proud of.
