This was part of a Congo masks exhibit held at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The masks were from the Congo Basin region. This photo was taken Feburary 24, 2019.-
@kwadwo. In the Afrikans perspective, they are majorly representations of spiritual aspects. I think calling them “art” is part of yurugu objectification to reduce them into items of commercial transactions.
