Pictured below is a young Ngwenyama (King) Sobhuza II with his mother Lomawa of the Nxumalo Ndwandwe Community. Born in Zombodze July 22nd 1899 and son of Bhunu and Lomawa Ndwande, during being conceived he was named firstly by his father Nkhotfotjeni (stone lizard) due to threatening wars between the Swazi’s and the Boers to explain in detail how they were living during those times. From the National Archives his grandmother Gwamile/Labotsibeni called him Mona which means jealously as there was a circle of jealously between the Boers and the British, between the whites and the Swazi’s as well as within the Swazi royalty (picture taken in 1907).
