        greetings all, I been vegetarian for about 15 years now, and been eating mostly vegan these days. How is it being Vegan back on the motherland?

            Question for you bredrin, I haven’t met any Ghanaians in the states that eat ackee but I know it came from there into Jamaica and other locations in the west. Have you met folks who eat ackee there? Is it specific to an ethnic group or region in Ghana?

            There are lots of indigenous foods that “modern” Ghanaians don’t even know about. I remember I was eating baobab fruit and a student asked me is that food. Many of our indigenous foods have been replaced by portuguese imports. Ghanaians in the states would typically be the very last people to know anything about our lost crops. Their very location should tell you something about where their priorities lie.
