Scholarship over hollership. What were your thoughts on the critique?

Go Freida! Go Freida!

First, I must state that I have yet to.read the book you reviewed, and cannpt comments on whether toyr specific critiques were correct and fairly stated.
-
Having said that, I found very pleasant the read in a Sunday afternoon. One thing that I will state is that I agree that our scholarship should be logical and based on sound methodology. It is a crime against the People to do shoddy work, when so many of our community are starving for information. I am a law school graduate, and I enjoy a good debate. Basically, there were moments when I felt sorry for the authors… but not for long. Finally, I found the book critique educational because I had many opportunites to encounter and move through honorific transposition. Thank you for that.

@speakinafrican, I appreciate your thoughts and feedBlack on the critique. It’s truly shoddy work. They said they would do a rebuttal and even coming from that perspective means that they’re more interested in saving face that being about Maat. Not surprising.

Rebuttal is an expected response; however, such rebuttal must meet academic standards, too. After a rebuttal, nothing else is really necessary because the work speaks for itself. Cake on the face does not feel good.
Having said that… I can’t wait to read your thoughts on Allen’s book. In addition, I’d also like to hear your thoughts on Gregoire Biyogo’s works.

Yes, this will truly be a defense of the indefensible if that’s the angle from which they’re approaching things. I’ll be sure to share. I have a lot of grading, and theses to read, so I’m looking forward to actually having the time to do so.
