I was listening to a conversation about Haitian revolution and the maroons of Jamaica. I found it quite interesting when the person mentioned about the series of events leading up to the overthrowing of the captors & how they gotten rid of the sell outs first.
People like Makendal played a role destroying many of the enemy when alive & after his death cuz he vowed to come back a a mosquito, which was said to infect the french with malaria. They also infiltrated the french army. Bookman dutty contributed wit his spiritual influence. They made know treaty with the enemy, it was liberty or death. Unlike the Maroons in Jamaica they didn’t capture or send back any runaways, if this is a fact, this could be one of the contributing factors to such a great victory for them. The Maroons of Jamaica had victories but I guess were probably tired of fighting all the time so they made a treaty & honoured it. Haitians were like we fighting until these crakkkas r no more or we r no more. They made Haiti a free place that any Afrikan could run away to and be free. A colonial wanted them to send back some of our enlslaved people who escaped from them & saying send back their property, but the Haitians said yes u can come get ur ship but not the people. Jamaicans and other Caribbean people were stowing away on ships and boats to get to Haiti. The Haitian revolution speaks volumes to the fact that no deal or treaty can be made wid d enemy, either u die or I die. Different methods from the Maroons in Jamaica, interesting very interesting. I think when we get away from fear of death & where will we go when we die, we r true & formidable warriors in battle, because kill me today u can’t kill me tomorrow.-

I like how the Haitians let the colonials know that those enslaved people were Human Beings and Not “property.”
