Mbuyu unafanya vitu tofauti ukilinganisha na miti mingine. Miti mingi hushiriki mchavuko kwa kusaidiwa na nyuki na ndege ambao huchukua punje za chavua toka mti mmoja hadi mwingine ili miti irutubishwe na kutengeneza maua mengine, matunda au kokwa. Mibuyu husaidiwa kuchavuka na popo. Wakati wa mwanzo wa kiangazi, mti huu hutoa maua makubwa yenye petali.
Maua huchanua usiku wakati popo wanapotokea. Popo hufyonza nekta na husafirisha chavua kutoka mti mmoja hadi mwingine katika mabawa yao na mwilini.
[The baobab does different things compared to other trees. Many trees pollinate through the help of bees and birds which take bits of pollen from one tree to another so that the trees are fertilized to make other flowers, fruits or nuts. Baobabs are helped to pollinate by bats. In the beginning of the hot season, this tree produces big flowers with petals.
The flowers bloom at night when bats are active. The bats suck nectar and transport pollen stuck on their wings and body from one tree to another
