        We can all learn from Garvey’s thoughts on his first encounter with DuBois & the NAACP. Once he saw how the NAACP’s staff was white or near white he realized that organization was not going in the same direction as the UNIA. He became more disgusted after talking with DuBois. Ironically, DuBois started espousing a form of Garveyism after Garvey’s death.
