Besides the fact that this little bottle of orange juice from a wazungu company is $4, let’s focus on the sugar content. Learning how to read nutrition labels is an underestimated skill. While this contains no added sugar (supposedly), it contains 21 grams of sugar PER SERVING. This small bottle holds 2 SERVINGS of juice, not one. So in reality, if you drink this whole bottle of juice, that’s 42 grams of sugar you just consumed. This does not contain the same nutritional content as if you were to eat an orange. With that you are getting the vitamin C, fiber, and other nutrients in its purest form. But juicing the orange, takes away a lot of the nutritional benefits. Additionally, this juice is pasteurized, meaning that is cooked/heated before being bottled. This further takes away any nutrition. So in other words, if you drink an entire bottle of this in one sitting, you are drinking concentrate. I would go as far as to say you’re even drinking syrup but that’s a whole different discussion.

Great information sis. Unfortunately most processed and prepacked foods have ridiculous amounts of nonsense in them! Best to eat the fruit and to know how much natural sugar each fruit contains as this can also be a problem. Natural is best and should also be checked

Meda wo ase! I completely agree. I have a sweet tooth and even I struggle to eat a whole orange. It’s naturally very sweet. To make it worse, people are so uneducated that they will have a smoothie/juice with only fruits thinking that it’s healthier. Someone once told me that people should eat more vegetables than fruits.

Exactly! I’ve noticed that people don’t really have critical thinking skills anymore. They would rather listen to multi million dollar brands.

Yes! That is a big but very important topic.. our kids are being brainwashed
-
Exactly.. miseducation is dangerous.
