I have been slowly converting my closet to Afrikan style clothing. (slowly because it costs a lot where I am) Are any of you also on a mission to convert your closet to all Black owned pieces? 4 years ago ·

Me too! I shop Africa2000 here in KC and sometimes D’Iyanu, etc @Akosua

Ooh! I love D ‘Iyanu too! I have been eyeing the Cyrah gold and blue set for a hot minute now haha. I also like Afrohemien, and Grassfields as well.

I bought a couple of tops from them. I forgot their names though. High quality merch.

Hi Kwadwo, I do shop online. There is no store in my immediate area that I know of for our style clothing.

I’m glad I found someone /people on this same mission. I am 100% done as far as purchasing Afrikan print fabrics are concerned as of 2018 till date (I have a ton of them everywhere no space to keep them). I also patronise 3 of my very close friends from Cameroon and Nigeria who sew and make dresses for me and I am 40% all the way with my wardrobe makeover. I have my own method of wearing Afrikan print clothing during the winter. I am done buying krakka man’s clothing. Shipping is quite pricy but the feeling of wearing a Made in Nigeria or Made in Cameroon clothing is beyond priceless.

That is so powerful! Congrats. I cannot wait to get to that level haha :) So far I just have a few pieces so like 3 headwraps and 2 skirts along with 97% of my jewelry. I also got some Afrikan style clothes for my baby as a gift but that is about it. I did have 2 more Afrikan style skirts but I gave it away to my friend years ago sadly lol (before this initiative). I feel so regal and powerful in Afrikan clothing. and they have all been very good quality all the pieces I have obtained so far. I agree with you that is it priceless.

Medaase Sis Akosua, I wish you all the best as you progress towards revamping your wardrobe in true Afrikan style. Indeed, I also have a regal and powerful feeling every time I put on my Afrikan clothes and it is priceless.
