Thank you for this. Upon my search, from what I’m finding, the term Tuareg, seems to be a big umbrella that people of different racial/ethnic mixes fall under and that the people themselves don’t like the term. They call themselves Amazigh. There’s just not a lot on them. Just as Kemet was lightened and renamed to Egypt to suit the new Kemetians mixed with Greek or whatever else, it seems the Amazigh were renamed to Tuareg and can include people mixed with Arab, Slavs, and more. So, now I’m going to start just looking for the term, “black Berber,” to see what I find. Since my family ended up in slavery, idk if we were relegated to the Iklan caste which means black (specifically Nilotic) or if my foremother was ethnically Amazigh (whatever that means). In any event, I found this video and to be honest, I see a resemblance between these people and my family, more so than the Arab looking Tuareg. My haplogroup is L2A1 w genetic variants that match people in Sudan, Ethiopia, and many other African nations. In Africanancestry.com, they warn you that there is a small percentage of black peoples that get non-Afrikan results for maternal or paternal lines but mine doesn’t sayonara Afrikan. They say that for a matriclan test to be considered Afrikan, one must have be in the L haplogroup (which I am). I need to email them and ask if Arabs fall in the L haplogroup. Then, I can rule it out as a possibility. If I was a betting woman, I’d say these were Kemetians or older Nubians who moved further inward. That could just be wishful thinking though. Lol
