There is a very big difference between the Consumption mentality & the Production mentality. Consumers will pursue any endeavour that provides the means for consumption.

Production requires not just skill, but an insight in to your social contexts and the needs of those in your environment.

If you take away a mans capacity to produce, he become reliant on the production of others. That reliance induces an emphasis on consumption. As for the individual so for the collective.

This becomes even more important, when we consider that production is not just material. Producers don’t just produce things. They also produce the immaterial. The conceptual – systems & institutions to manage & distribute what they produce.

It’s a totally different mentality. The best of ourselves is born of a production mentality because production requires creativity. It speaks to our ability to create what our families & communities need. It also speaks to our capacity to create a world conducive to the development of our families and our communities.

The POWER lies in the production.

So… Which mentality current predominates the collective character of Black Man?
