Looking through my email, I have happened upon a proverb posted on Dec 22. It is translated as thus: “If you destroy your mat, you will sleep on the bare floor.” The proverb in the Igbo language has been messed up due to characters being changed and shows as this: “Onye gbakaa ute ya, á» rahụ n’ala.” Could anyone provide the correct proverb in the Igbo dialect?
I am compiling important proverbs as character building points for my son and think this is important as one to record. I have been looking though the history and I appreciate this platform as such a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Asante sana.
