pA tA n(y) kmt(yw)- The Country of the Blacks
(Sahidic Coptic-kamaui-Blacks, Bohairic Coptic- xemeui- Blacks, Crums Coptic Dictionary pg. 109b and 110a)While I was examining Medew NeTer text I stumbled upon an interesting inscription where the indirect genitive grammatical operation was employed to indicate possession ‘tA n aAmw” = Land of Indo-Europeans (Asiatics) or Land of Asiatics. This context shows that the land is being possessed by Euro-Asians. This same construction can be observed with ‘kmt’. pA tA n kmt(yw) = The Land of the Blacks vs tA n aAmw = Land of Indo – Europeans (Asiatics). So, European Egyptology would rather say- pA tA n kmt = Land of the Black Land (Egypt) (TLA) ???, which makes no logical sense whatsoever and actually goes against grammar rules. Why would the kmtjw – Blacks indicate two aspects of the same noun when indirect genitive in grammar is expressions of possession, why would ‘land” possess ‘land’?
Indirect Genitives indicating land being possessed by people should also apply with ‘kmt’ with no acceptions obeying grammatical operation rules. Below we find ‘tA n aAmw’- Land of Euro-Asians in its correct sense of expressing possession and this must be applied also to ‘tA n kmt’ in pLouvre N 3136, Ramses III War History. (line [x + 1,1])(TLA). In Papyrus Beatty I, 21-2 we find ‘pA tA km(m)t’ The land of Blacks. Of course, we can observe that ‘km(m)t’ would be a nisbe-adjective that omitted the weaker consonant alteration (Kambon, James P Allen) and would obey the sense of the indirect genitive of expressing possession as observed in ‘tA n aAmw’ = Land of Asians thus you would have ‘tA n km(m)t’= Country of Blacks. Supporting the definition of this ‘kmt’ to mean ‘Blacks’ would be easily observed in the Negro-Egyptian Coptic dialects (see: A).

In the Old Kingdom, I can only find the direct genitive in Old Egyptian, for example- tA THn.w = Land of Libyans source: TLA. The oldest indication of the genitival operation is found in Old Egyptian and it indicates possession of relationship, thus, tA THnw would be = Libyan Country or Land of Libyans. This is also found in Ethiopic Ezana inscriptions where it mentions – Land of Red Nubians.
-
It seems the indirect genitive came later, in Old Egyptian the direct genetive mentioned indicated possession example: tA THn.w (PT Pepi), Direct genitive in apposition or juxtaposition tA + TH.nw = Libyan land, or Land of Libyans should be directly implemented in the sense whenever it regards the same genetive formation for kmt(jw)
-
Note: tA -THn.w is the accepted Euro Egyptological translation as = Land of Libyans source: TLA
-
So, according to euro-egyptology, all other descriptions of countries are “lands possessed by people” but Kmt should be “land possessed by land” lol. Thankyou for sharing

exactly, when it comes to kmt in these indirect genitives, Euro and Arab and some foolish and quack linguists who are in Black would support the silliness and ignore grammar. Actually indirect genitives are expressing possession, the examples I gave show that – tA n(y) aAmw- Land/Country of Asians, even the hittites are in this same operation and the Libyans in Old Egyptian but when it gets to kmt being in this same indirect genitive operation then the nonsense of ‘ltA n kmt means Land of the Black Land (Egypt) ??? Euro Egyptology will soon be replaced.
