This is a very important thesis I would like to share with the members of this Comparative Negro-Egyptian Linguistics group. This thesis was authored by Dr. Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon and we must stay diligent and always focused on applying the comparative linguistic method to avoid “folk etymology” and making inferences based on look-alike resemblances or even chance similarities. We must be aware that cultural diffusion happens in all cultures. To avoid mistaken “borrowings” or “loan-words” as cognates and making “pseudo” inferences the method demonstrated in Professor Kambon’s thesis should be studied until mastered. Thanks. Note: This is one of my favorite sources in understanding proper methodology in studying how to compare African languages.
