Gullah names and their Bamana and Wolof origin.

When I asked my mum about the meaning of the Wolof names she pronounced some of them differently. Turner has collected a long list of names and at this point in time I can only assume that either the continental Wolof pronunciation/spelling has changed over time while the Wolof in Gullah kept the one from past centuries, or diasporan Wolof has changed through mixing with other African people’s. Either way the core and Africanness are still here.
