What a disgrace!

“ It also emerged that China has rejected recent pleas by Uganda to renegotiate the toxic clauses of the 2015 loan, leaving Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s administration in limbo.
According to the Daily Monitor, the Ugandan government waived international immunity in the agreement it signed to secure the loans, exposing Entebbe International Airport to take over without international protection.”

I’m wondering how a whole Uganda would be unable to pay back 207$million even in 2months when they service principal payment for domestic debt to the tune of over 800$million annually. I suspect this is a reaction to a probable approach to Nigeria, which is Uganda’s 3rd largest bilateral creditor after china and kuwait to maybe give them more time so they can deal with china first. They mistakenly thought Nigeria is their “brother”
