I’ve fallen in love with Simmy’s music over the past few years, but this song specifically has been one of my motivational themes. The direct translation of the opening verse refers to a proverb: “There is no elephant that is weighed down by its own trunk” and along with the rest of the lyrics, meaning:
Even though the distance is so long (that you are too far away from home), just focus on the road ahead (there is a way forward). Your problems are never too big for you to handle — There’s nothing put before you, that you can’t do. Instead of looking back, keep focused on the road ahead (move forward).
The video is also beautiful, with female elders dressed in traditional outfits, dancing towards the end.
