Unfortunately this is an all too frequent and familiar scene here in the United Snakes of Amerikkka. I feel this in every fiber of my being; I’m sitting here crying like a baby, I know way too many young girls in and out of my immediate family whose fathers are incarcerated, this is truly joy and pain for her. My dad was in prison when I was a little girl, not for 22 years, but for several years and he missed a large portion of my upbringing because of his incarceration and yes, I suffered because of his absence. He more than made up for his absence during my teen and adult years as he and I were very close, he is now an Ancestor not only on my alter, but in me.
