In the two other major plantation regions of the American South–coastal South Carolina and Georgia (the Carolina Lowcountry), and Louisiana along the lower Mississippi–the Bight of Biafra trade was even smaller (less than 10 percent), although Igbo and Ibibio (“Moco”) are clearly visible in the historical records, including runaway slave advertisements.”
