“In order to produce self-hatred in the black man, the white man had to degrade all things Afrikan. This has not changed. When we got these jobs that we gloat so much about, we literally had to become Black-White people, honorary white people. It literally requires the shedding of all that is Afrikan in us in order to gain these so-called jobs and other opportunities this system so stingily has offered us. We pay for the advancement in this society through alienation, which ultimately means that we pay for it through the demotion, devaluation and degradation of things Afrikan. That has not changed. It has been that way since the beginning of slavery. It is still that way. It is the foundation of white supremacy. This means that those things that are innately ours – our color, our hair, our physiognomy – must be degraded and negated. It is a pathetic situation when your very body becomes an instrument of hatred. That from which you cannot escape, that to which you are tied to until the day you die – how awful when it becomes an object of hate, dislike and disgust.”
