            In Kiswahili, the colors nyekundu (red), nyeusi (black), nyeupe (white) are also primary. They are the only ones not in reference to any object, also the only ones beginning with prefix nye- which can be personified to mwe- in reference to people. Therefore, there can be black, red and white people. Mweusi and Mweupe refer to shades of skin tone among “Afrikan” people, while Nyekundu is the only color I’ve heard being used in reference to eurasians. Same thing applies in Gikuyu
