“Africa, must recover the rational kernel of its ancient past in every area of life. Pyramids (the largest buildings in the world that have stood for over 5,400 years in Africa’s Kmt) were not built based on empty religious mysticism, but by scientifically skilled indigenous African architects, engineers and master urban planners—who at the same time adhered to advanced moral codes of conduct. The priests were scientists and the scientists were priests. Science and morality; therefore , were one complementary cross-paralleled reality. The ‘divine speech;’ Mdw-Ntr, of Djehuti (Kmt’s personification of science) was intimately bonded with ‘divine righteous behavior,’ Maati, or Maat (Kmt’s personification of truth, justice, and righteousness).

Maat principles created in ancient African Kmt were the first and most developed tradition of morality and ethics in world history. They were founded on cardinal virtues that permeated the culture for thousands of years. The moral education documents are called ‘Sebayit,’ from the verb ‘Seba,’ to teach, to instruct, to learn. These ‘sebayit’ were distilled into the Maat way of life, a higher concept of ‘truth-justice-rightness’ at all levels of ancient Kmt society.”
