Mojuba Malcolm Shabazz, Grandson of Omowale Malcolm X & Mama Betty Shabazz; Son of Qubilah Shabazz.
On this day in 2013 Malcolm Shabazz was murdered in Mexico. This is the 10th Anniversary of his passing.
Malcolm Shabazz had begun to embrace the legacy of his grandfather, engaging in Political Activism Nationally and Internationally. He had travelled to places like Libya & Iran; went on Haajj; as a well visiting and speaking to youth in Oakland and many such hood’s across USA – educating him self about the conditions of Afrikan and other oppressed people. He formed relationship with international Muslim (particularly Shia) organisations, and also begun to build solidarity with and seek tutelage from Garveyites and Pan-Afrikan organisation in the USA.
Months before he was killed, he was detained by the FBI, and subsequently wrote a letter, detailing the extent to which US law enforcement & intelligence agencies were hounding him. He had apparently gone to Mexico upon the invitation of the Afro-Mexican community and it was during this trip, that he became the victim of what many consider to be an assassination.
Considering the fact that Omowale Malcolm X’s father was also assassination, Malcolm Shabazz is the 3rd generation of Manhood with in this line, to face such a fate and the hands of this system of Global White Supremacy & Western imperialism.
The eternally question remains, what would Malcolm Shabazz have become had he lived to grow & flourish in his chosen mission.
We honour you Malcolm Shabazz. May your blood not be shed in vein. #Ase
