Wendy Wilson-Fall notes that many African American families who have an ancestral connection to Madagascar, often passed on such knowledge through the generations. This oral transmission has been validated by her historical research, in addition to genomic analysis.
Interestingly, I know at least two individuals who possess a connection to Madagascar. Both indicate that this knowledge was a matter of intergenerational transmission. I too possess an ancestral connection to this place and its people, though I was not a recipient of any sort of oral transmission.
