Yup. It makes no sense how this seems to be widespread among us. Perhaps there’s a false narrative at play here as well. Regardless, one thing’s for sure, we keep taking L’s. It’s beyond frustrating.

Any foreigner/aAmwy can come and tell us to stop our ancestral traditional practices and like obedient children, we obey. For example, before we pray or pour libation to our Creator and the Ancestors, we will take a full proper bath for our cleansing ritual. But when we adopted and took on Islam, before we pray we would just splash a few water on our face, hands, and feet as a cleansing ritual to Allah. Even though we have whole bodies of water, rivers, lakes, surrounding us that we can do an adequate proper cleansing ritual bath, we would rather act like we are living in the desert like a dirty Arab; splashing a handful of water on our self.
