GOLD MIND
What Gold Mines
Lie in my mind?
What fortune awaits me?
Prosperity is promised
But fear stifles me
Shuts me down
Strips away my birthright
Am I not the daughter of kings?
Am I not from a people who used gold for everything?
Am I not the wealthy Afrikan whose land and resources were stolen?
Is my soul not golden
Are my riches not waiting for me
And my people to take them back?
Am I not who I claim to be in fact?
No, I am my Ancestors
I am all of them
In totality
Oh woe is me
I’ve seem to forgotten
And the thieves, they prefer if I don’t remember
But now my memories come rushing back
I’ve come to take what’s mine
Give me back my GOLD MIND
