I made a tactical error by sharing the truth of what I have learned regarding our history with people that I once considered my community. My uncompromising adherence to finding the truth has lost me many things. Now, I have been black-balled from many of the circles and opportunities that are funded by you know who.
The second error I made was expecting a functional quilombo, institution, or group for me to join to continue my development and to live my life with some degree of dignity. I am finding that there are almost no opportunities for young Afrikans to make a living. I thought this was a problem for those on the continent but it is the same even in the diaspora. I am too qualified for some positions and underqualified for some. I am too militant for some opportunities and the other militant Afrikans are fighting their own battles too occupied to help create a functional and independent economy to sustain our efforts.
I am worn out and not sure what the future holds for me but, I know that I giving my best.

Do you have a CV or resume you could post. Someone here may be hiring. Also, where are you located?

I will share it. I am in Seattle, WA. I ended up here as an orphan through the foster care system. I came from the refugee camps in Kenya. I have been trying to move back to Africa for years now.

Kenya specifically or anywhere on the continent?
-
My preference is Ghana because I already have connections there.

That’s what’s up. What connections?
-
I maintained a few friendships from when I studied there. There is a shopkeeper at UG that I am still talking with and some students that graduated but are still hanging out around Accra.
-
I am currently speaking with a friend whom I met when I played at the UG interhall basketball tournament (which we won) about possibly coming back and either playing at the professional leagues based out of Accra, Tema and Kumasi or maybe training players. He says its possible but it is up to me to figure out the papers to get to Ghana.
