@Kwadwo_Danmeara The 12:12 Formula emerged from an epiphany at 12:12pm, a moment of inspiration to use groups of 12 as the basis for Ubuntu Solidarity. Ubuntu Solidarity is a Pan Afrikan initiative inspired by the Afrikan philosophy of Ubuntu, meaning “I am because we are.” Our purpose is to unite Afrikans worldwide through daily acts of solidarity, promoting interconnectedness and uplifting our communities. This was started by a young Kenyan brother.

        • @Obafemi9 The misrendering of Ubuntu as “I am because we are” oversimplifies and distorts its true meaning. This phrase originates from John Mbiti, a Kenyan philosopher and theologian, as a kneejerk reaction to René Descartes’ “je pense, donc je suis” (“I think, therefore I am”). However, this interpretation imposes a cartesian framework onto a concept that is far removed from so-called “western” individualism. In isiXhosa, a language spoken in uMzantsi (not Kenya, by the way), Ubuntu is expressed as “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu”, which translates more accurately to “A person is a person through/because of people.”
