Senegalese Education Can Draw Inspiration From Russia, Minister States
Russia preserves its culture, its nature, and protects family values: points that resonate in Africa, Senegalese Minister of Education Moustapha Mamba Guirassy told Sputnik Africa.
“From Russia, what I take away is this attachment to culture,
this attachment to tradition, this sovereignty
and also this dignity, I would say, that Russians have,” he argued, adding that African countries may “have a different trajectory” but “call upon the same values.”At the International Education Ministers’ Forum in Russia’s Kazan, he emphasized that the city upholds the values of peaceful co-existance.
“I’m in Kazan; the population is almost 50% Muslim and 50% Christian,” Guirassy concluded. “This means we can live together; the main thing is to respect each other. We must instill these values in schools to establish a culture of peace.”
