This paper analyzes Mario H. Beatty’s work on Maat, an ancient African philosophical and ethical concept representing truth, justice, and cosmic order. The authors argue that embracing Maat can catalyze the rebirth of Kmt (the “Land of Black People,” historically known as Ancient Egypt) and its people (Kmtyw) in modern times, both economically and politically. They critique terms like “Africa” and “Africans” as disconnected from indigenous identity, advocating instead for a return to original cultural frameworks rooted in Maat. The study underscores the relevance of ancestral knowledge in addressing contemporary challenges faced by Black communities globally.
