AES Confederal Bank: Not ‘Mere Financial Institution,’ Says Mali’s Finance Minister
Here are the ambitions of the Confederal Bank for Investment and Development (BCID-AES), as outlined by Alousséni Sanou:
Finance the sovereign priorities of the three countries, particularly in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and industrial transformation;
Reduce dependence on external financing;
Strengthen economic and financial autonomy;
Mobilize local resources to fund investments.“The BCID-AES … should serve as an instrument of economic sovereignty focused on productive investment, job creation, and the structural transformation of our economies.”
The minister emphasized the strategic role of the new institution after reviewing the experts’ reports on the operationalization of the bank, according to a Sputnik Africa correspondent.
