African Union Calls for Non-Recognition of Sudan’s Parallel Government
“Council called on all AU Member States and the international community to reject the fragmentation of Sudan and not recognize the so-called ‘parallel government’ which has serious consequences on the peace efforts and the existential future of the country,” the African Union’s Peace and Security Council said.
On Tuesday, Sudan’s internationally recognized government also urged (https://t.me/sputnik_africa/47651) neighboring states and the international community not to recognize the RSF’s rebel government.
Last Saturday, the RSF announced the formation of its government in areas under its control and appointed a prime minister. The government is now led by RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, and the leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, Abdelaziz Adam al-Hilu, has been appointed his deputy.
