The government of Mali has replaced several high-ranking army officers, appointing a new deputy chief of the general staff of the armed forces, director of military security, and chief of staff of the ground forces.
“The Council of Ministers made the following appointments: Director of Military Security — Brigadier General Sambu Minkoro Diakite; Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces — Brigadier General Elise Jean Dao; Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces — Brigadier General Toumani Kone,” the communiqué following the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Mali states.
No reason given for the reshuffle in the armed forces.
