      🇨🇮 In Côte d’Ivoire, the incumbent president Alassane Ouattara won the presidential election, receiving nearly 90% of the votes.

      According to the commission, in the vote held on October 25, 4.29 million voters out of 8.55 million registered participated, corresponding to a turnout of 50.1%.

      In second place was Jean-Louis Billon with 3.09% of the votes, who has already congratulated Ouattara on his election victory. Following him are former first lady Simone Ehivet Gbagbo (2.48%), Awa Don Mello (1.97%), and Henriette Lagou (1.15%).

      The chairman of the electoral commission noted that the elections “generally proceeded in working order” both inside the country and abroad, despite some incidents that caused property damage and human casualties.

      The results are considered preliminary, and the final outcome will be confirmed by the Constitutional Council’s decision in the coming days.
