45 ladies showed up to discuss women’s health, prenatal/postnatal care and birthing. We sat with the elders, mothers and babies in an area outside of Ougadougou, called Saaba, to talk and discuss critical community issues. Traore has done a lot in terms of hospitals and health care, but it’s definitely at the beginning stages and centered in the capital. Those on the outskirts are still struggling. Underpaid, understaffed hospitals have mothers with inadequate care, and financial hardships means difficulty getting proper medical assistance. Currently traditional herbal practices and homebirths are considered obsolete, doulas do not exist. @Bobette initiated a conversation about problems and uzuribirth.com solutions…. and we were there to chime in and assist (@Nana @ama_kambon)
