This is Bullerengue, a rich Black genre made by the Abibifo⁣ɔ of Caribbean ‘Colombia’ and the Darien province of ‘Panama’. It is known for being one of the Diaspora genres for retaining most of its Abibiman heritage. El Pescador – the fisherman – a lot of Abibifo⁣ɔ songs are about life around the ocean and rivers as our people largely depend on these Asase Ya resources for living. So many Black communities are based around a river or the ocean. I will post some other songs that deal with the Kmtyu worldview of reverence for nature, and especially water. Water is life.
