For each assigned article, complete the following tasks:

1. Analyze the introduction using the Creating a Research Space (CARS) model discussed in class. Identify how the author:

   • establishes the research territory,

   • identifies a niche or gap,

   • and occupies that niche by stating the purpose, argument, or focus of the study.

2. Practice summary writing at different levels of compression by working with the same article and producing:

   • a summary in a few paragraphs,

   • a summary in one paragraph,

   • a summary in a few sentences,

   • and a summary in one sentence.

Your goal is to show that you can both analyze how academic introductions are structured and communicate the main ideas of a scholarly article with clarity, accuracy, and increasing concision.
