🗣Why 800 French Military Personnel are in Kenya?
🗣France Deploys over 800 Military Personnel to Kenya for Training and Maritime Security Cooperation. At least 800 personnel from the French Army have docked in Kenya in a new phase in the defence partnership between France and Kenya.
🗣Three French warships have docked at the Port of Mombasa, Kenya, carrying military choppers and over 800 French Army soldiers for military training and maritime security cooperation.
🗣France deploys over 800 French military officers to Kenya. According to a French ambassador to Kenya, “the mission of the French troops deployed here is to train cadets. It is an operation mission. We are training and delivering an operation at sea. It is all about partnership, especially with the rise in war and conflict in the Indian Ocean.”
•Under this deal, French military personnel can operate in Kenya. And not just operate, under this proposed deal, French soldiers on Kenyan soil will receive diplomatic privileges, including diplomatic immunity, and legal protection.
•A foreign military- a European military, will be operating on Kenyan territory with diplomatic immunity.
•French soldiers will be subject to French law rather than Kenyan law.
•Kenya, a sovereign nation, will be providing legal shelter and operation cover for an arm forces for a colonial country that has been one of the most brutal and exploitative relationship with the African country.
•Kenya is preparing to host the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi. The first time Africa-France Summit is being held outside of Paris or in an Francophone country. President William Ruto is rolling out the red-carpet for Macron and his Africa-France Summit.
