      The Bes & Beset – Leland Jackson Foundation is preparing for a private Veterans Honor Dinner to uplift one Baba and one Mama whose military service and community work have directly strengthened and supported our Black youth.

      We are now accepting nominations for:

      • One Baba Veteran

      • One Mama Veteran

      who have:

      • served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces

      • demonstrated ongoing commitment to uplifting Black children and teens

      • mentored, guided, taught, or supported youth in meaningful ways

      • contributed to the healing, protection, or empowerment of our young people

      • shown leadership and service beyond their military years

      Eligibility (High-Level):

      • African/Black

      • Honorable military service

      • Currently living in the Chicagoland area

      • Actively engaged in youth empowerment

      • Available to attend the private ceremony in November 2026

      Nomination Deadline:

      All nominations must be submitted by July 31, 2026.
