Beyoncé shared behind-the-scenes footage of her family helping comb out Jay-Z’s wicks/locks after more than eight years of growth, a process that reportedly took nearly a week to complete.
She also revealed that Jay-Z originally started growing his hair after Blue Ivy Carter told her parents she didn’t like her own hair. According to Beyoncé, his decision to grow his wicks/locks was a way of supporting his daughter and helping reinforce the beauty and honor of natural Black hair.
🗣The Black self-hatred indoctrination starts very very very young in Black children. And of course she’s going to hate her own natural hair when she sees her own mother wearing blonde white women hair on her head everyday.

I asked a female school mate of mine this question regarding this because I noticed many people who do it don’t realize how it will affect their children
I said to her if her son grows up and said he doesn’t want to date black females
Her reply was that is races so I said to her if you be wearing white females hair all his life around him don’t you think that would play a part in that
She said yeah that makes sense
It’s just sad that how females are making their children hate their skin and hair without knowing
