Meda mo ase pa ara for pre-ordering The Construction of Black Civilization, Volume I: The Classical Origins of sḫm Km ‘Black Power’ “Pan-Afrikanism” and The Dikènga Theory of Self-Identification as Kmt(.y.w) ‘Black People’.

I want to share a production update so that you know exactly where things stand.

The book is being co-published by Afrika World Books in Baltimore, Maryland, and BlackNificent Books in Akuapem Mampong, Eastern Region, Ghana.

Because this is a large and technically demanding volume, the production team made the decision to move the book to a new printer after the original printer experienced problems with its binding equipment. For a book of this size, the strength and quality of the binding are critical.

The new printer has now been working through the interior files. The pages had been prepared in two different sizes, so the book is being standardized and reformatted to a 7 × 10-inch trim size. The back cover and spine are also being completed and prepared for submission to the printer.

Once the full cover and interior layout are completed, the printer will produce a galley for final review and approval. After the galley is approved, the printing and binding of the initial 3,000 copies is expected to take approximately three weeks.

At this stage, printing is expected to begin once the remaining technical and design work has been cleared. This means that physical copies will not be ready immediately, but the production process is moving forward carefully so that the finished book properly honors the work itself and the legacy of my parents, Nana Kamau Rashidi Kambon and Mawiyah Kambon.

The regular retail price will be $69.95, while those who pre-ordered secured the discounted pre-order price of $59.95.
