I was talking to Human Rights Activist Mr. Bakary Tandia out of Mauritania and he informed me of FISO. From what I have seen they discussed “Wagadu” – past, present, and future, and if religion would hinder/ underdevelop this. As we know there was never a “truth and reconcilliation” between indigenous African groups/kingdoms after “independence” so I think forums and organizations like these have to be contacted and that kind of truth, reconciliation and futuristic planning has to happen.

Festival International Soninke (FISO) was a galvanizing tool to engage community members. On the occasion of this year’s event, Mr. Tandia formed:
      – International Confederation of Soninke Associations and its three component:
      – Soninke Academy ( for the transcription and harmonization of Soninke language),
      – Foundation Dinga ( for recherche and development)
      – Festival International Soninke ( for promoting Soninke culture, music and arts).
The next edition will take place in the Gambia in 2020.

Mr. Bakary Tandia is a “Human Rights” (U.N.) Activist fighting against Afrikan enslavement in Mauritania.

I think Mauritania used to be part of the Mali Empire, and quite a few African ethnic groups still reside there.
