Pictured below are Afro combs that are held at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford here in the UK. These combs predate ancient Kemet as they are from the Naqada Period (c.3500 BC) and therefore shows how long the Afro has been a hairstyle in Afrika. Local deities can be seen engraved into the top of each comb and from here can be seen years later… Read more
