Sawa. Let’s set up a time to talk about the possibility of you teaching Kiswahili through Abibitumi.

Yes, I’m up for it

Poa kabisa! When are you available to discuss this?

3pm Ghana time on Sunday will be fine for me

Habari! Now I am prompted to let it out that I see Kiswahili borrows words from English, just like we do in our language, but sometimes if you try hard enough you can come up with a descriptive word or phrase to denote an object in pure African tongue. I wonder if that can’t be done in Swahili. Otherwise other words I find interesting are ‘panga’ and the derivatives. Also ‘kitara’ reminds me of a compound name I’ve come across before, ‘Bunyoro-Kitara’.

Kiswahili is notorious for that @lion_o
-
You’re right. ‘Panga’ is the standard machete. The derivatives ‘kipanga’ and ‘upanga’ are meant to denote the diminutive and augmentive forms of the standard respectively
-
Saturday or Sunday will be fine with me

Okay, what time? I teach from 4-8pm Ghana time so it will need to be before that.
-
3pm Ghana time on Sunday is fine with me. I think that is 6pm Kenya time

Can we try for earlier? We have a standing meeting at that time. Maybe like 12 noon Ghana time?

-
12pm is good. I will arrange myself to be there
