Oral Tradition Is Education
Oral tradition, for us Africans, is education on all levels: primary degree, secondary degree, the higher degrees; so oral tradition is education on all degrees. Oral Tradition is education on all levels. It encompasses morality, spirituality, ethics, philosophy, mathematics, geometry and all that is called human knowledge and wisdom; both from a cultural point of view and from a philosophical point of view. Therefore, oral tradition is education.
This education is given by the ‘old wise men and women’.
