To my surprise, the Brooklyn Museum has an exhibit up on Kemet and explicitly asserts they were Black people, while admonishing racists for pretending otherwise. The reactions of the mzungu were comedic. The exhibit is full of misnomers, but still surprising to see in the belly of the beast.
