ME TOO, LEAVE THIS PLACE OF CONSTANT TRAUMA ALL BEHIND US!

This positive psychological change that has awaken me, forces me to be more conscious of my surroundings, an awareness that keeps whispering to me, “This isn’t living Corwin, you really aren’t free.

For me, as a black man, I see now that I’m a threat in the country I live in and that my future will hold more negative encounters with those who were trained to monitor my behavior, the police, thus resulting in a shorter lifespan!

So, in a sense, I’ve grown to realize that I can’t continue to see and live my life through these same kumbaya lenses anymore. You can continue to take solace in the words of Christian faith, Things will get better, or simply accept the reality that it won’t!

We may carry the past trauma of our Afrikan forefathers in our DNA, but do we have to tolerate the daily traumas of living while black in America? If trauma can be passed down through generations, then so can healing.

Physically changing your point of view could drastically change your outlook on life! Experiencing life someplace other than the states could provide you with a future you only dreamt about. But for right now, you’re experiencing living while black in America, it’s kept your dream just that …. a dream!

As for me, there’s only one option that removes the ongoing trauma we face as blacks in this country.

LEAVE ALL BEHIND IS THE ONLY PATH TO TRUE HEALING.
