I received two text messages today on my phone. My spidy sense kicked in immediately.
I felt the emotional rush to acting, then I asked myself WHAT IF?
I took the following actions:
1. Asked myself – Do I recognize this Person / Group /Number?
2. Asked myself – Why would an organization contact me in a group text chat?
3. Asked myself – Where could they have gotten my number?
Coincidently:
I was recently added to a few WhatsApp groups which could be compromised after thinking about it.
Next and most important steps:
Do not call or click on the embedded Internet links in the messages.
